Irish Soda Bread

Makes 1 loaf

INGREDIENTS:
  • 3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 tbsp. sugar
  • 2 tsp. baking soda
  • 2 tbsp. melted butter
  • 1 3/4 cups buttermilk
INSTRUCTIONS:
  1. Preheat oven to 375°F.
  2. Spray a 9-inch round cake pan with non-stick cooking spray.
  3. Mix all ingredients in a mixing bowl, until everything is combined.
  4. Turn dough out onto a floured surface, and using floured fingers, form dough into a round shape and place into cake pan.
  5. Bake for 35-40 minutes. Remove bread and let cool on a baking rack.

Vanessa, I have never tasted Irish Soda Bread before now. I saw your demonstration on Memorial Day. So I copied the recipe and made it. I did not have all purpose flour so I used whole wheat flour. It was delicious! Thank you for the recipe. I will be trying others of yours in the future.
